Preparing Landau Forte Academy's students for the world of work.
I was delighted to be asked to visit Landau Forte Academy Amington in Tamworth and share careers advice with their students.
The Academy wanted to give their pupils the opportunity to talk about their career plans with business people outside of the school, and to experience a mock job interview.
The day involved chatting to the students and understanding their career aspirations. I then posed some mock interview questions to help them prepare for a real job application.
The event allowed the Academy's students to find out more about employers in the region, and to gain a real understanding of the various local employment opportunities available to them.
"Michael was fantastic support for our students in their mock interviews. Nothing was too much trouble for Michael and he was so flexible in any changes to the days plan. Students that worked with Michael recounted their conversations enthusiastically which reflects his passion and flair in his field".
Many students were keen to learn more about the role of a television director and corporate video producer. I was pleased to share advice and tips developed from my own career in media and television, and to give the pupils an insight into my role at Embrace Video.
Landau Forte's students were all very polite, professional, and smart. I was very impressed by how they dealt with some often difficult interview questions, and they were all extremely personable. I hope that the event helped the pupils to better understand the world of work, and to build their confidence when applying for future roles.
The event was a great way to enhance and strengthen business connections with the Academy, and it was a pleasure to be involved.
