Celebrating International Women's Day with a video training seminar for HSBC.

Helping HSBC's business customers learn how to create mobile phone videos.

It was an absolute pleasure to be asked by HSBC's commercial banking team to deliver a smartphone video training seminar to celebrate International Women's Day 2024.

I know that for many companies, the thought of using video can feel complicated, time-consuming and (let's be honest) a little bit scary.

My training session focussed on why I believe that every business needs to develop video-making skills and to get in front of the camera in 2024.

How to plan, film and edit professional-looking videos using your smartphone.

My mobile filmmaking speech at HSBC explained how businesses and organisations can film and edit engaging, professional-looking videos simply by using a mobile phone.

I covered a variety of topics including how to:

🎯 Develop a winning video marketing strategy that reaches your target audience and generates results.

✏️ Storyboard and script engaging videos that attract and engage prospective customers.

🎥 Capture professional-looking video footage and high quality sound using your mobile phone plus a range of simple, inexpensive accessories.

🎞️ Edit footage, add music and create on-screen captions quickly and easily using simple smartphone apps.

😬 Beat your nerves and look like a pro! Expert tips on how to look comfortable and confident on camera from a former BBC and ITV television director.

Stop worrying. Start shooting!

My smartphone training workshop at HSBC's head office in Birmingham's Centenary Square shone a light on how to celebrate and showcase your business's female colleagues through the power of video. What better way to mark International Women's Day than filming interviews, recruitment videos and career profile videos with your talented team?

With such a powerful tool in your pocket (your mobile will film 4K footage, quickly edit clips, add music, record voiceovers, and create graphics), there really is no excuse NOT to make video a key pillar of your organisation's marketing strategy.

"Michael presented a great speech on how to create videos using small equipment and with low budgets. Our guests found the workshop very useful".

A huge thank you to HSBC for their warm welcome and generous hospitality, and for inviting me to share my passion for video with their customers and colleagues.

I look forward to watching what videos the bank's excited commercial customers go on to produce with their smartphones!
